Apple computers are used in some of the most demanding work performed by computer users. Most Macintosh computers that are used in serious work are of the desktop variety. These are among the most easily-upgraded of computers. Apple memory is usually fairly inexpensive. There are numerous models made by this manufacturer and not all types of memory will fit from one to the next. In particular, this manufacturer is known for making computers with non-traditional cases. These variations may require different types of memory. Even these exotic types can usually be found quite easily through third-party retailers, as well as through the manufacturer itself. One needs to make certain, however, that their particular model of computer can take any memory purchased. Compatibility on Macintosh computers is usually determined by the model name and number alone and is very easy.
